To ensure accurate results, patients should stop taking proton pump inhibitors (e.g., omeprazole, esomeprazole) at least 2 weeks before the test, antibiotics at least 4 weeks prior, and bismuth-containing medications for 2–4 weeks. These medications can suppress or eliminate H. pylori, leading to false-negative results. Patients must consult their physician before stopping any prescribed medication. No dietary restrictions are required.
